Minutes, correspondence, financial records, printed ephemera and clippings documenting activities of the Grolier Club, 1884-1984. Correspondence files include general correspondence (1917-1923); library correspondence; and correspondence of the Club secretary (1898-1916). Also correspondence files relating to trips organized by the club. Financial records include bank statements, cancelled checks, check stubs, receipts, checkbooks and vouchers (1891-1984). Minutes include minutes of the Council (the governing body of club) and minutes and other materials of club committees, including: Modern Fine Printing Committee (1969-1977); Nominating Committee (1911-1926); House Committee (1884-1957); Committee on Publication (1884-1894); and Committee on Arrangements (1904-1924). In addition, there are several scrapbooks and other collections of printed ephemera created by the club as well as newspaper clippings, etc. Collection includes a guest book containing signatures and visiting cards (largely of mining engineers) of attendees at the Paris Exposition, 1900.

The Grolier Club was founded in Jan. 23, 1884 by a group of seven New York City book collectors with the object, as stated in its constitution, "of literary study and promotion of the arts pertaining to the production of books."
